In the evening you will be taken on an unforgettable carriage ride through the Krakow Old Town and Kazimierz Streets, So be sure to catch an early flight!

Day 2

Today we will offer you a choice of two trips, either to Auschwitz – Birkenau or Wieliczka Salt Mine. Auschwitz – Birkenau was the Biggest Nazi concentration and Death Camp in occupied Europe. Today the museum stands testament to the inconceivable atrocities of the Second World War while paying tribute to the thousands of lives unjustly taken within.

Or

Wieliczka Salt Mine is about 40 min. driving from Krakow. This attraction was among the first to be listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a spectacular underground word of salt, featuring salt carvings made by miners during the 18th century. There are also amazing underground lakes, and you can see the mining tools and equipment used by the workers so long ago. A chamber complex (125m underground) offers facilities such as a restaurant, souvenir shops and post office. Staying underground is particularly beneficial for people with upper respiratory track problems and allergies. These ailments can be treated at the Underground Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre situated in the Lake Wessel Chamber. This trip includes an English speaking tour guide.

Day 3

After breakfast at the Hotel you will be taken to the Centrum of Polish History, Culture and Science for a feast of architectural masterpieces and unique historical relics. Feel the thrill of the centuries of history beneath your feet as you explore Royal Castle on Wawel Hill, situated on the bank of the Vistula River. This was home for three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs and  legends tell stories of a dreadful dragon that lived in a cave of Wawel Hill.

You will then be taken through the chambers of the Royal Private Apartments and also the guest rooms, Crown Treasury and Armoury and The State Rooms as well as other key castle interiors.  In the afternoon, you will be taken to Krakow Old Town and then to Kazimierz. Our walking tour with English-speaking tour guide will introduce you to the splendid architecture of Krakow Old City, another one of the early designated UNESCO monuments. Enjoy the atmosphere of the beautiful and mysterious streets, which will transport you to another world. There are many places in Krakow that are enchanting. For some, it will be the place where John Paul II lived and worked; for others it will be the largest medieval market square in Europe, the commercial and social heart of Krakow. For the most of the day you will have a guide at your disposal, but you will also have free time to explore the city and buy some souvenirs.  In the evening we will make our way towards the Tatra Mountains. You will stay at traditional-style hotel in the mountains (5 miles from Zakopane) where you will sample the typical local cuisine at dinner.

Day 4 & 5

During these two days you will visit Zakopane and Podhale in the Tatra Mountains. The region is widely regarded as the most attractive in Poland, and is known especially for its food, traditional music and regional language. The city is surrounded by the most beautiful mountain landscape.
You will be taken up to the Gubalowka Mountain (altitude 1,120m) by the funicular railway where, from the top, there are the most amazing views of the mountains and Zakopane city.
Afterwards, we will take you to the Pksowy Brzysk Cemetery – the oldest graveyard in Zakopane. This is sited next to a wooden church built over 150 years ago.  Although a Catholic Church this is of interest to all who appreciate architecture and history. Then we will visit the Koliba Villa – the first building of Zakopane style, which was built by local mountain-dwellers in 1892-1893. There is also a ski jump, where an international ski jumping competition takes place every year. You will then take a cable car to Kasprowy Wierch (altitude 1,987m), which is one of the highest points in the area. Starting from Kuznice, the car travels a distance 4.5 km, at approximately 200m above the ground. At the top, you experience the exhilaration of the wide open spaces, the wonderfully clean air and spectacular picture postcard scenery.

Afterwards you will explore the legendary beauty of Krupowki Street where you will find street entertainers, folk music, the cheese market, people in local highland dress and many restaurants serving traditional, homemade food – prepared only from local organic ingredients. You will take a walking tour in Zakopane, where you will be shown the many attractions and experience the captivating culture of the city. We will also take you to Tatra Museum, which features local culture including architecture, costume, household articles, and the flora and fauna of Tatra National Park. You also will be taken to Krzeptówki Church, some 4 km from Zakopane. The Church was built as an expression of gratitude for the saving of John Paul II after the attempt on his life on 13.05.1981. It’s situated opposite the Cross on Giewont, with panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains.

In each place our Back to Nature Travel Tour Guide will be on hand to provide information and ensure your safety and convenience.

Day 6

You will be taken for a day trip to Morskie Oko (The Eye Of The Sea), one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in the Tarta Mountains. It covers about 35 hectares in all, stretching some 860 meters in length, and 566 in breadth. The lake is entered through a small pass, and once inside, you are entirely surrounded by the mountains. It is very much as if you are in a huge crater, hence the name “The Eye Of The Sea.” The lake itself is fifty meters deep and it is the only one with natural stocks of fish (River Trout.) The prospect of the surrounding mountains is stunning. While here you can choose whether to hike for 3 hours, or sit back and relax and take in all the surrounding scenery from a horse drawn carriage. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes! Once reaching Morskie Oko (The Eye of the Sea) you will have time to explore the beauty of the lake, take photos and have lunch. The Tatra Park is one of the largest National Parks in Poland and offers a variety of walks and climbs into the mountains. Arriving back at the hotel, you will be served dinner, and can relax in front of the fireplace with new friends.Wind down and relax in The Meander Park Resort in Slovakia’s Orava Region, just a few kilometres from Zakopane. The healing thermal water (58°C) rises from a depth of 1,611m and fills up all the pools located in the Meander Park Thermal Resort. The total area of the pools is an impressive 1,545 m². The water, which is used in balneotherapy, is rich in minerals like sodium, and calcium and also contains magnesium and iron. In the complex you can find bathing pools equipped with benches, whirlpools and geyser massage jets, plus a terrace with sunbathing couches. In the evening we go back to the hotel for dinner or a barbeque in the garden.
