All classes are conducted in our traditional chalet hotel in Zakopane mountains. The classes with have a maximum of 7 people in order to allow for individual attention. You do not have to be an expert cook to enjoy our course – all we ask is enthusiasm – we will provide the rest! The emphasis is always on using fresh, locally sourced produce and authentic regional recipes. There will be the chance to visit local farms and gardens to choose the freshest of ingredients. Polish cooking combines influences from all over Europe, including French, Italian, Tartar, Armenian, Lithuanian, Cossack, Hungarian and Jewish, but always using wonderful traditional Polish ingredients such as fresh-water fish, sauerkraut and smoked cheese. Your holiday will not just be about cooking. In addition to sampling Polish cuisine cooked by professionals, you will also have the chance to enjoy results of your own cooking and share these with your friends in the group. Apart from cooking there will be planned excursions to Cracow, the former royal capital of Poland, Zakopane and the Tatras mountains. If relaxing is more your style then you can unwind in the spa resort just over the border in Slovakia. Do not worry that your non-cooking companions will feel left out – there will plenty for them to do while they wait for you to prepare their dinner! Day 1- Saturday Our English speaking driver will meet you in the afternoon at Cracow international airport and transfer you to the hotel located in the city centre of Cracow. In the evening we will offer you a welcoming dinner in one of the traditional Cracow restaurants, and after the meal you will be taken for unforgettable carriage ride through the centre of Cracow, the Old Town and Kazimerz Street. Day 2- Sunday After a leisurely breakfast you will be taken to Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains ( aprox. 90 min, drive from your hotel). On the way to Zakopane we will stop at the village of Chocholow. This is a surviving example of an old Goral village (old wooded houses built in 19th century). After check-in and a welcoming lunch in the hotel in Zakopane you will visit a typical market where the chefs get inspiration for their cooking. Then you will have your first cooking lesson with our chef. Your introductory lesson will not be too complicated. And afterwards…we will enjoy the fruits of our labours! Day 3- Monday After breakfast, you will be shown the Town of Zakopane and Podhale, which is situated in the Tatra Mountains. The region is widely regarded as the most attractive in Poland, and is known especially for its food, traditional music and architecture. The city is surrounded by the most beautiful mountain landscape. You will be taken up to the Gubalowka Mountain (altitude 1,120m) by the funicular railway – where from the top there are the most amazing views of the mountains and the city of Zakopane. Afterwards we will take you to the Pksowy Brzysk Cemetery – the oldest graveyard in Zakopane - which makes an amazing impression even for unbelievers. It’s situated next to a wooden church, which is the oldest in the City. Back to the hotel, rest and into the kitchen for your next cooking session followed by dinner. Day 4- Wednesday After breakfast you will than be taken by cable car to Kasprowy Wierch which, at 1,987m, is one of the highest points in the area. Starting from Kuznice, the car travels 4.5 km at some 200m above the ground. At the top, you experience the exhilaration of the wide open spaces, the wonderfully clean air and the spectacular picture postcard scenery Afterwards you have time to explore at your own pace the legendary beauty of Krupowki Street where you will find street entertainers, folk music, the cheese market, people in local highland dress and many restaurants serving traditional homemade food – prepared only from local organic ingredients. In the afternoon we go back to the hotel for your next cooking session. In the evening you relax and enjoy and later enjoy eating and sharing your cooking. Day 5- Thursday Wind down and relax in The Meander Park Resort in Slovakia’s Orava Region, just a few kilometres from Zakopane. The healing thermal water (58°C) rises from a depth of 1,611m and fills up all the pools located in the Meander Park Thermal Resort. The total area of the pools is an impressive 1,545 m². The water, which is used in balneotherapy, is rich in minerals like sodium, and calcium and also contains magnesium and iron. In the complex you can find bathing pools equipped with benches, whirlpools and geyser massage jets, plus a terrace with sunbathing couches. In the evening we go back to the hotel for dinner or a barbeque in the garden. Day 6- Friday On this the last day your time is yours to spend as you please. You can explore the countryside and ramble through the whitewashed villages; arrange to take a horse ride; or take an optional excursion to Morskie Oko (The Eye of The Sea) - one of the most largest and most beautiful lakes in the Tatra Mountains - or just relax and enjoy the scenery. In the late afternoon, after lunch, you will be taken back to Hotel in Cracow. Day 7- Saturday After breakfast transfer to Cracow international airport. Dates: This course is available year-round and can start any day you wish, and can be customised to your personal requirements. Extra nights can added if you like. Prices: - Price per person £420
